Grace Li, LPC
DIRECTOR, Meadows Outpatient Services-Scottsdale
Grace Li was born in Beijing, China, and grew up in Shanghai. She majored in applied chemistry and journalism, graduating with honors from Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus in New York. After years of experience in a managerial role providing investor and media relations to publicly traded companies on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ, she entered the mental health field.
As she embarked on her healing journey, Li developed a deep compassion for working with people who struggle with addiction, PTSD, mood disorders, and other mental health issues. After returning to school, she worked at various levels of care in the mental health field, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and community care.
A Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Arizona, Li joined the team at Meadows Outpatient Center-Scottsdale in December 2017. She has worked as a primary therapist, trauma therapist, and clinical director before stepping into her current role as director.
Li’s passion for professional and personal growth leads her to seek extensive, ongoing training to provide the best in evidence-based patient care. This includes everything from EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems to Post-Induction Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. With a motto of “we gather to heal,” Li and her team work tirelessly to assist clients and their families in finding healing and hope.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is uniquely designed to support individuals with a range of needs, including those seeking treatment for process and substance addictions, as well as those here solely for mental health support without a history of addiction. A significant percentage of our patients also have a history of relational or other forms of trauma, and our programming is tailored to address these diverse experiences.
Each week of the IOP curriculum, created by The Meadows Senior Fellows, explores essential topics such as setting boundaries, emotional regulation, and recovery management. This dynamic approach equips participants with the tools needed to achieve long-term success and healing.
IOP Level of Care Includes:
- 8-Week Rotating Schedule: Participants can join at any point and focus on key topics like functionality, trauma resolution, and recovery skills, ensuring continuous learning and progress.
- Flexible Programming: Designed to accommodate individual needs, including extension options for those who would benefit from ongoing trauma-focused treatment.
- Gender-Specific and Mixed Groups: We offer women-only and men-only groups alongside mixed-gender, mixed-diagnosis groups, providing options to suit individual preferences and therapeutic needs.
- In-Person and Virtual Options: In-person IOP is available at our Scottsdale location, while virtual IOP is provided through our dedicated Virtual Outpatient (OP) team.
Partial Hospitalization program (PHP)
A partial hospitalization level of care is ideal for those who require stabilization and a safe space before transitioning to an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Average length of stay in our PHP spans four weeks, with an option to extend if deemed clinically appropriate. Program hours are increased at this level of care to allow for a focus on regulation in preparation to step down to our IOP. While programming is tailored to the individual’s needs, those in the partial hospitalization program routinely have 1-2 individual sessions each week, weekly psychiatry sessions, weekly family recovery virtual sessions, and neurofeedback sessions as needed.
PHP Level of Care Includes:
- 4-week length of stay (with option to extend)
- Programming 5 days per week, 6 hours per day
- Focus on stabilization, safety, and regulation
- Case management
- Preparation for IOP level of care
The Meadows Outpatient – ScoTTSDALE Specialized Eating Disorder Treatment
Our Program Offers Both Intensive Outpatient Care and a Partial Hospitalization Program
Our Scottsdale-based Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program offers trauma-focused care through The Meadows Model, targeting the root causes of eating disorders while providing support for mental and physical recovery. The program features both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels to meet individual recovery needs. While both levels include medical, psychiatric, and nutritional support, the ED PHP typically has a minimum length of stay of 6 weeks, allowing for more intensive engagement and clinical support. Our IOP provides greater flexibility for individuals who need structured care with more independence.
