Putting the “Care” in Healthcare

Here at Meadows Behavioral Healthcare (MBH), our goal is to provide patients with the best of the best. With more than 40 years of experience and the nation’s top mental healthcare and addiction professionals, we are trusted by clinicians and patients all over the world.

This National Healthcare Quality Week, we want to take a moment to show our appreciation for everyone who works tirelessly to make Meadows Behavioral Healthcare the premier treatment program in the industry. Our staff, from our world-renowned Senior Fellows and executive leadership to the top-notch healthcare teams at each of our locations, work tirelessly to create an unbeatable experience that is nothing short of life-changing for each person who walks through our doors.

Lasting healing and recovery can only come when the trauma at the root of mental illness or addiction is discovered and addressed.

A Unique Approach to Holistic Behavioral Healthcare

Meadows Behavioral Healthcare began with our flagship program, The Meadows, and has steadily grown over the years as we have recognized the need for additional programs that cater to specific populations. We now have 12 locations with different specialties that allow us to tailor our care to individuals in environments designed to serve their unique needs.

MBH is always growing, but our current facilities include the following:

  • The Meadows is our flagship program, providing men and women with state-of-the-art treatment for addiction, trauma, and co-occurring mental health issues, going deep to address root issues.
  • The Meadows Texas offers residential drug and alcohol addiction for men and women near Dallas, also addressing co-occurring mental health issues that contribute to substance abuse.
  • The Meadows Malibu provides boutique-style, fully-customizable treatment in a private, serene setting with ocean views.
  • Gentle Path at The Meadows and Willow House for Women offer healing from sexual addiction, love avoidance, domestic violence, and other intimacy issues in single-sex environments.
  • The Meadows Ranch provides comprehensive eating disorder treatment for young girls and teens as well as adult women.
  • Claudia Black Young Adult Center treats trauma, addiction, behavioral health, and other issues specific to young adults, welcoming young men and women between the ages of 18 and 25.
  • The Meadows Outpatient Center offers convenient outpatient behavioral health, addiction, and trauma treatment at locations in Dallas, Scottsdale, and Silicon Valley.
  • MBH Connect (Virtual IOP) offers our same comprehensive outpatient treatment in a convenient, flexible format that allows people to get the help they need without leaving home.
  • Rio Retreat Center has a wide range of workshops, professional development trainings, and private intensives for people seeking healing
  • Bournewood Health Systems provides secure treatment for acute teens and adults in the suburbs outside of Boston.

At the core of all our treatment programs is The Meadows Model, which was developed by Senior Fellow Pia Mellody. This trauma-informed approach is based on Mellody’s Developmental Model of Immaturity, which looks at the underlying issues that impact an individual’s overall well-being. Lasting healing and recovery can only come when the trauma at the root of mental illness or addiction is discovered and addressed.

We dig deep to treat the problem, not just the symptoms, using innovative therapeutic techniques to address childhood and family-based trauma that often leads to addictive and dysfunctional processes.

World-Class Healthcare Professionals

We pride ourselves on the premier healthcare teams that preside over our various locations and stay on the cutting edge of research and treatment for trauma, addiction, and mental health issues. Our behavioral healthcare professionals are often not just authorities in their field, but the authority, having developed the very methods we use in our treatment programs.

Going Above and Beyond

While our main focus is on patients who are in or have been through our treatment programs, we want to make information about behavioral health and addiction readily available to anyone who seeks it.

Articles like this one are posted regularly across our websites, providing information and resources free of charge to the greater online community. We also produce podcasts that offer listeners exclusive access to conversations with highly distinguished mental health and addiction experts. We even offer free webinars for healthcare professionals looking to expand and continue their education with training and inspiration. Information about mental health isn’t just for those in need of treatment; it should be accessible for everyone.
